O2 transfers one of the “functions” of its flat-rate tariffs to prepaid cards. This is a “Full Data” service, in which flat-rate customers can surf unlimitedly on a given day (a total of 3 to 5 selected days per month) regardless of their FUP limit, or in the case of volume-unlimited tariffs at full network speed.
Unlike flat-rate tariffs, this service is not included in the price of O2 Go subscriptions. Each calendar day of Data costs CZK 49 in full, i.e. the same amount for which the service can also be purchased with flat-rate plans. As an introductory promotion, until August 15, 2023, prepaid card customers can try one day of Data absolutely free. The service is activated in the My O2 application, the amount of CZK 49 is deducted from the loaded credit.
According to statistics from O2, data usage for customers with prepaid cards has increased by more than 50 percent year-on-year. About 72 percent of customers with prepaid phones are smart phones. The offer of prepaid O2 Go cards currently includes prepaid self-renewable tariffs with 1, 3 or 7 GB of data for 30 days for 179 to 299 CZK. The lower two tariffs also include a certain number of free minutes (50 to 100), after which the brutally overcharged rate of CZK 4.90 per minute follows.
