NEW YORK – Police in New York are searching for a moped driver who has been accused of injuring a young child and speeding away from the scene earlier this month.
The 2-year-old boy was crossing the street with his father on the Lower East Side when he was struck by a scooter driver, police said.
The NYPD tweeted a photo of the suspect in the June 2 hit-and-run.
Authorities said the incident occurred around 7:40 a.m. near Suffolk and East Houston streets.
The severity of the injuries sustained by the boy was not immediately clear.
