NEW YORK – A 30-year-old woman died after being shot in Brooklyn during what law enforcement sources say was a dispute between teenagers.
A senior NYPD official familiar with the investigation said the victim was standing at the corner of Belmont and Georgia Avenue before 9 p.m. Tuesday when he was shot once in the head.
The shots came from a group of three teenagers who were involved in a fight and it is unclear if the woman was the intended target.
The victim, who was not identified by the police pending notification of the family, was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
No other information was immediately available and an investigation is underway, police said.
