NEW YORK – Two passengers on an MTA bus are injured after a gunman opened fire and missed his target in Jamaica, Queens.
The shooting was reported around 8:59 a.m. Thursday between 148th Street and Jamaica Avenue, police said.
The gunman fired twice, but did not hit his target but two men, one 20 and the other 66 years old.
Authorities said they were both struck in their arms, for which they were taken to Jamaica Hospital for medical attention. The victims are expected to recover.
Police said they were taking the suspect into custody and that a handgun was recovered at the scene.
The motive for the shooting was not disclosed; neither does the identity of the suspect.
