NEW YORK – A 32-year-old woman was shot in the face after a projectile penetrated a window of her Brooklyn apartment, police said Friday morning.
The victim was inside his home on Belmont Avenue in East New York when police say the bullet was fired. Police say the bullet struck the woman in the face.
The severity of her injury was not immediately released, but police say she is expected to survive.
Detectives were combing the area for evidence Friday morning and working to determine a motive, including whether or not the victim was the target of the shooting.
No arrests have been announced and the investigation is ongoing.
