NEW YORK – Police are searching for a man who they say pulled a 31-year-old woman from a Bronx road in broad daylight, covered her nose and mouth, and dragged her into a wooded area, where He pinned her face down and started twisting her neck last week.
The woman was walking near the City Island and Shore highways around 3:30 pm on June 23 when the stranger, who was wearing white surgical gloves, “quickly approached her from behind,” according to police.
Somehow, the victim managed to scream while lying face down on the ground. A cyclist heard her and started heading in that direction. The suspect later escaped.
The victim ran towards the cyclist. She suffered scrapes and bruises on her arms, legs and back and was treated at the scene by emergency personnel.
