An NYPD officer was shot in broad daylight yesterday in a “targeted attack” while sitting in a vehicle in Yonkers, a day after another uniformed officer was beaten by smokers at a station. of the Subway in the Bronx (NYC), beating that was caught on video.
The shooting occurred on Tompkins Avenue, just east of Saw Mill River Parkway, around 11:30 a.m., according to the Yonkers Police Department. The off-duty NYPD officer was sitting in his vehicle when a gunman fired multiple shots and hit the police officer on the arm.
The injured officer was taken to a hospital for treatment. His identity was not revealed and there was no description of the suspect. The gunman fled the scene and has not been arrested, he said. Pix11.
Yonkers police officials said the shooting was a “targeted attack” but did not detail why the off-duty officer was targeted. The incident remains under investigation.
Earlier on Monday two men were caught on camera hitting an NYPD officer in the head and face in a Bronx subway stationafter that officer and his partner asked the suspects to turn off their cigarettes.

Kaream McClary (23) and Izayiah Jessamy (20) were arrested and charged with assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and criminal trespass during the shocking attack at Freeman Street station around 2.30pm on Monday. reported New York Post.
The altercation broke out after two officers asked McClary, Jessamy and a third man to stop smoking inside the station, but the trio refused, according to NYPD.
When officers attempted to remove the alleged offenders from the station, they began fighting with officers, police said. The shocking video published on social networks shows two men tipping repeated blows to the head, neck and face of one of the officers.
This incident happened just two days after another NYPD officer was brutally beaten by two men at the 238th Street station in Kingsbridge, The Bronx.
