NEW YORK – The woman accused of shooting a Brooklyn woman in the neck over the summer was detained by police and arrested nearly 1,000 miles from the crime scene.
New York Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said the suspect in the execution of the victim in Crown Heights in August was taken into custody in Jacksonville, Florida.
Surveillance video of the shooting released by police showed a woman in black leggings getting out of a parallel parked white sedan and casually shooting Delia Johnson in the head while chatting with a group of people on a Brooklyn step.
The attacker calmly walked back to the car with her bag over her shoulder and drove off, police said. Johnson was pronounced dead at a hospital.
The identity of the suspect has not been released.
