NYPD Cadet Program: Salary, Flexible Schedules, and University Support Available for Young People Interested in Joining the New York Police Department

The New York Police Department is looking for young people looking to join the institution and is offering a salary, flexible schedules and university support.

The program is aimed at young people between 18 and 33 years old who live in New York and are studying a university degree.

Young people must also have citizenship, although they can participate as long as they obtain it within two years after graduation.

The police offer them up to $20,000 in tuition support, that is, $2,500 or $5,000 per semester for two years, depending on the school in which they are enrolled.

It also offers them an hourly pay of $16.79.

It is essential that those interested be dressed formally, in a suit.

They must first check if they meet the requirements before attending.

Requirements to enroll as a cadet in the NYPD

· Be between 18 and 33 years of age
· Be a resident of New York City
· Be a full-time college student with no more than 100 credits at the time of hire.
· Be enrolled in an accredited associate’s or bachelor’s degree program within the 5 counties of New York City, Nassau, or Westchester.
· Have a minimum average of 2.0 and have a minimum of 12 credits per semester.
· Be free of any felony conviction
· Have U.S. citizenship within two years of hiring and/or graduating from college, whichever comes first.

Benefits offered by the cadet program

Tuition Assistance: You may receive up to $20,000 in tuition assistance ($2,500 to $5,000 per semester, up to 4 semesters). Cadets who take advantage of this program will not have to repay the amount after completing 2 years of service as a New York City Police Officer. Pay: They will have an hourly wage of $16.79. Flexible Work Schedule: They will have full-time summer employment with a flexible work schedule during the school year. Promotion Opportunity: When you take the police officer exam, it will be considered a promotional exam.
