NYPD beefs up security for Thanksgiving parade and ‘no credible threat’

Under heavy security, guest artists began arriving in New York for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, to be held this Thursday.

“The Police have always known how to handle themselves, so I hope it is not a different situation,” said Carmen Figueroa, a Puerto Rican tourist who for the first time wants to enjoy the parade in person.

Governor Kathy Hochul said there is “no credible threat”

Since the conflict broke out in the Middle East, between Israel and Palestine, in October, and especially after the United States announced its support for Israel, terrorist threats against the Big Apple have become more frequent.

However, Governor Kathy Hochul stressed that security forces are prepared to do their job. “There is no credible threat”he added in a public statement.

“We are strengthening security, with joint work between the agencies of the city and the state of New York,” said Hochul.
