A Mustang caught fire on Sunday afternoon. The three occupants managed to get out of the vehicle in time.
The driver of the Mustang was traveling with a friend and an elderly lady. Suddenly they noticed smoke inside at the intersection of Hirschgartenallee and Wotanstrasse. They quickly got out of the vehicle and called the fire department. A passing police patrol and the driver of a tow truck recognized the need and tried to put out the vehicle with two powder extinguishers. Unfortunately, attempts to eliminate it have not had enough effect.
When help arrived shortly after, flames were already raging from the engine compartment. A respiratory protection team managed to put out the fire with the quick coupler.
No one was injured in the operation. There was significant damage to the vehicle.
