NEW YORK – New York City will invest $ 75 million in electric vehicles and electric chargers in all five boroughs, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Wednesday during his press conference.
This move would be the largest investment in electric vehicles in New York state history, de Blasio said.
“We need to simplify and make it easier for someone to have an electric car, but that only works because there are chargers everywhere,” said the mayor. “And New York City is going to show what appears to be a huge public effort to make those chargers available across the city,” he added.
On the other hand, the Democrat also said that another important point is to get rid of the cars to has, and that for this they are replacing
hundreds of gasoline vehicles for new electric vehicles.

We have the strictest law in the world for any major city to reduce emissions from our buildings. We are analyzing all the possible fronts in which we can make a change. The mayor also unveiled another topic related to a greener city this week. He said Tuesday that New York City reached an agreement to connect the city to renewable sources of electricity from Canada and Upstate New York.
“This Climate Week we are connecting New York City to wind and solar hydropower from Canada and upstate New York, these green energy projects will create jobs and a more reliable power supply that is how we fight against climate change, ”said the mayor.
