NYC superintendent secretly searched two women in bathroom and bedroom – Telemundo New York (47)

NEW YORK – A 57-year-old Brooklyn man was charged with allegedly secretly recording videos of two roommates without their knowledge when they were in the bathroom and bedroom, the county district attorney announced Wednesday.

Thomas Tamborski, photographer and building superintendent Greenpoint, where he lives, received 36 counts of illegal surveillance.

Prosecutors noted that Tamborski allegedly installed various recording devices in the guest room, which he rented from a 24-year-old woman, and in the bathroom, which she also used, and secretly recorded it between mid-December and mid-January.

Two years before that, from roughly December 3, 2018 to Christmas Eve 2018, he allegedly did the same with another roommate, a 33-year-old woman.

The 24-year-old suspected that someone was entering her room when she was not at home, so she placed her own camera in the place on January 14 as a precautionary measure, the prosecution said. After reviewing the first day of recording, he noticed what appeared to be infrared light, which he recognized as camera light, coming from his bedroom wall, the indictment says.

The victim reported it to the Police and the officers found a camera inside the wall. Upon further investigation, uniformed officers from the district attorney’s office and members of the New York City Police executed a search warrant at the apartment and recovered numerous items, including two cell phones, an alarm clock, an air freshener, and a SONOS loudspeaker, which allegedly contained or was capable of housing hidden cameras.

Tamborski had allegedly insisted that the clock, air freshener and speaker remain in the bathroom, according to the woman.

A forensic analysis of those items, as well as cell phones, computers, discs, USBs, cameras, and additional hard drives, allegedly found that there was a hidden camera in a bathroom vent that searched the 33-year-old woman at various times. when changing, showering, or doing other personal activities.

“This suspect is charged with a shocking invasion of privacy for allegedly recording his roommates during private moments,” Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said in a statement Wednesday. “We will now seek to hold him accountable for this disturbing breach and breach of trust.”

Tamborski was released without bail after his appearance on Wednesday and is due to return to court next month. The lawyer’s information to him was not immediately clear.
