The Transportation Alternatives group confirmed that eight people have died in traffic-related incidents in the last four days.
The most recent of these involves a 55-year-old man who was struck and killed in Brooklyn while riding a scooter.

Police say a pickup truck struck the individual as he was heading south on Fourth Avenue while turning left onto 21st Street.
The accident took place shortly after 1 p.m. on Friday. And the victim’s death was certified at the hospital.
The 37-year-old driver remained at the scene, and it is not yet clear if he will face charges.
