Officials advised New Yorkers to hit the streets slowly and safely and use public transportation instead of driving.
The mayor noted that Cleaning Department workers go out on Sunday night to spread salt on the streets and emphasized citizens to be cautious as transportation conditions could be dangerous.
The temperature is forecast to drop to 20 degrees Fahrenheit at night, which could freeze pavement on sidewalks and streets.
Mayor Adams encouraged citizens to be in contact with our most vulnerable loved ones before the storm.
