Some of New York City’s most famous parks may have exciting new food options coming soon.
Whether selling a variety of fresh and healthy salads to people on the go, hot and cold delicacies from a distant homeland, or fresh flowers,” New York City Parks is welcoming proposals for “inventive and exciting concepts.” the Parks Department said in a news release Wednesday.
It is the first time the Parks Department has submitted a request for proposals for mobile food and merchandise. Vendors will be found in some of the city’s most iconic parks, including Central Park, Forest Park, Macombs Dam Park, and other iconic sites.
The goal of the park addition is to help the city enrich its green spaces and significantly improve the quality and environment of the parks, according to the department.
The Parks Department is looking for vendors to operate for a period of five years per location.
All proposals for this RFP must be submitted electronically no later than August 2, 2022 via the Digital Portal for Procurement and Supply Solutions (PASSPort), which requires a PASSPort account.
