NYC Opens Beaches for Swimming on Memorial Day Weekend – NBC New York (47)

The beaches of New York Cityand the tri-state area, will open for swimming beginning Saturday, May 28, just in time for the Memorial Day holiday.

The Big Apple Parks Department maintains 14 miles of beaches that will be open for swimming. During the beach season, lifeguards are on duty every day and swimming when they are not there and in closed sections is prohibited. Closed sections are marked with signs and/or red flags.

All our beaches are free and open to the public.
