Tax season began this January and for many people it can be a headache to prepare the return.
For this reason, New York City offers free online and in-person consultations for those looking for help getting their refund without problems.
The requirements are simple: have a family income of less than $85,000 per year or individual income of less than $59,000 and have the necessary documents on hand.
Through the NYC Free Tax Prep program, the City puts you in contact with volunteer preparers who help you for free.
Most begin after the second week of January and continue until the deadline for the declaration, which is next April 15.
However, they also offer the option of receiving online advice.
Through various service providers, interested parties can register and obtain this help at no cost.
One of them is GetYourRefound which is an organization promoted by the city that offers help.
