Libreville, Tuesday, June 13, 2023 (Gabon Info) – On a Republican tour in this Gabonese province, the Head of State, Ali Bongo Ondimba, proceeded yesterday Monday to the official launch of the activities of this structure. The press release from the Presidency of the Republic.
“On the second day of his Republican tour in Nyanga, the Head of State, His Excellency Ali Bongo Ondimba, went on Monday to meet the populations of Moabi, Moulengui-Binza and Mayumba.
As during each of the previous stages of this Republican tour, the populations were able to exchange directly, without intermediary, with the President.
Various roads and infrastructures, education and training, health and health insurance, human-wildlife conflict, high cost of living… all subjects without exception were discussed. Listening, the Head of State asked the Government to take into account all these concerns and to respond to them. “diligently and efficiently”.
In Mayumba, the President of the Republic inaugurated the new fishing center. He took the opportunity to discuss with the fishmongers to whom he offered new fishing equipment.
Throughout the day, the populations of Basse-Banio thanked the Head of State for the multiple actions carried out locally, such as the construction of the Banio bridge and the new artisanal fishing center, the asphalting at 90 % of the Tchibanga-Mayumba axis or the electrification of the city.
Taking advantage of the President’s presence in their homes, the populations, both in Moabi and in Moulengui-Binza and Mayumba, made several requests such as the extension of the fishing center by the construction of a landing quay; the reduction in the cost of certain basic products; drinking water supply; a training, acquisition and capacity building program to promote employability, etc.
During these frank and direct exchanges with the people, the Head of State invited them to get involved in our country’s development process. “Don’t just ask yourself what the country can do for you. Also ask yourself what you can do for the country”, he told them, paraphrasing a former American president: “It is together that we will do great things! “”.
