NEW YORK — A New York City woman is accused of kidnapping and torturing a man she met on Instagram for more than 12 hours while demanding a $100,000 ransom from her brother, authorities said Tuesday, NBCNews reports. com.

Valerie Rosario, 21, is alleged to have “lured” the unidentified 24-year-old victim into a Bronx apartment on Feb. 7, police said.

It is alleged that at least two men with firearms waited until he entered and then entered the apartment behind him.

One of the men struck the victim with a pistol, according to a complaint provided by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. The suspects undressed the victim and put her in a bathtub, the complaint says. They then poured flammable liquid on him, burned him with a flame and repeatedly stabbed him with a knife, the complaint alleges.

Police said the victim was later driven from the Bronx apartment to a location in Queens, where a detective saw one of the suspects in a truck with a knife. The 24-year-old suspect from the Bronx was arrested on February 7 and charged with robbery, assault, kidnapping and false imprisonment, according to NBCNews.com.

Raymond Loving, Rosario’s attorney, said she denies all the accusations against her.

The other two defendants were also charged and remain in custody. His attorneys could not immediately be reached for comment, NBCNews.com reports.
