NEW YORK – A 31-year-old woman from Long Island was arrested for an alleged fraud involving counterfeit goods worth about $ 40 million, according to Nassau County Police.
Lindsay Castelli turned herself in to investigators for the confiscation of Nassau County assets late last week for a plan that lasted more than a year, authorities say. In the event you face a second degree trademark infringement charge.
According to investigators, in April 2021, investigators launched an investigation into Linny’s Boutique, the Old Country Road store of which Castelli is indicated as the sole owner. Inspectors from the United States Postal Service attended.
The investigation found that Castelli’s shop contained thousands of heat-sealed counterfeit synthetic labels bearing a variety of clothing and jewelry. A search warrant executed there a week ago revealed 22 printing presses and several counterfeit items with labels ranging from Dior to Uggs, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel and Prada, authorities said.
Together, the items were worth around $ 40,000,000, and investigators say they were shipped to the United States.
Castelli was released with an appearance ticket and is expected to return to court next month. Information on his lawyer was not immediately available.
