The private transportation company, NY Waterway, launched a new ferry service that will cover the maritime route between South Amboy, New Jersey, and Manhattan.
This is a new option that New Yorkers will have available to work in New Jersey, and vice versa, guaranteeing their return via the same route.
Craig Coughlin, a member of the New Jersey General Assembly, said in a statement that “generations of residents will benefit” from the service and stressed that it will get better and better as the region “prosperes and grows.”
These are the schedules for ferry service between South Amboy and Manhattan
The first ferry leaves South Amboy at 5:45 in the morning and the last arrives in Manhattan at 9:50 in the morning. The service operates from Monday to Friday.
For the return, the first night ferry leaves Manhattan at 3:15 in the afternoon and the last arrives in South Amboy at approximately 7:25 at night.
NY Waterway reported that free transfers are available for South Amboy users to all other ferry terminals of the same company, in Manhattan, Weehawken, Edgewater, Jersey City and Hoboken.
Additionally, there is free local transportation between Sayreville and South Amboy.
