New York prosecutor Alvin Bragg, who has initiated the prosecution of former President Trump, is now also taking a Congressman to court. Republican Jim Jordan allegedly obstructed Trump investigation.
Jordan is not pleased with the persecution of his fellow party member and has spoken out several times recently. That didn’t just stop at expressing criticism and sending tweets. The Ohio Republican also chairs the Congressional Judiciary Committee. In that capacity, he now wants to scrutinize Trump’s prosecution.
Bragg disagrees and speaks of an “unconstitutional attack” on his person in the already fraught trial. He speaks of a “campaign of intimidation and obstruction” and does not think Jordan’s committee should look into the Trump case.
Bragg, a Democrat, has been under serious threat since prosecuting Trump. The prosecution does not believe that politicians should interfere with the legal process in New York State. He therefore has a document of fifty pages in which he explains his allegations.
Republican Jordan reacts strongly to the allegation. “First they’re indicting a president for a crime that isn’t a crime. Now they’re trying to prevent us from watching what they’re doing while using government money to do this investigation,” he wrote on Twitter.
