NY /
The authorities in New York will collaborate with the police in an investigation against the health care network Parcare Community Health Network accused of breaking the vaccination guidelines against covid-19, that prioritize health personnel and nursing homes.
The facilities of said medical service provider in New York’s Orange County “he could have fraudulently obtained the covid-19 vaccine”The state’s health minister, Howard Zucker, said in a brief statement, arguing that it could have transferred it to other facilities located in different parts of the region.
According to Zucker, this could constitute “a violation of state guidelines” by “having diverted it to the general public, contrary to the state’s plan to administer it first to front-line healthcare workers, as well as nursing home residents and staff. “
“We take this very seriously and the Department of Health will assist the state police in a criminal investigation into this matter,” Zucker said.
New York, like the rest of the United States, started the vaccination campaign on December 14 with the focus on health personnel and workers, as well as residents of nursing homes and care centers for people with disabilities.
When Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the vaccine distribution plans in early December, he already warned that in a first stage, the general public would be left out of the immunization campaign.
The US authorities hope that when a wide distribution and availability network of the vaccine has been generated throughout the country, the general population can begin to be vaccinated.
