NY Fashion Week returns without restrictions

Models on the catwalks.

The dozens of models who paraded the proposals for the fall winter season of the 12 designers convened by the federation of Latino designers dressed in a lot of color. A return to the runways of fashion week without restrictions.

Albania Rosario, Founder FDLA says:

“We are super happy to be able to return in a big way to what the industry is here with our shows and fashion shows.”

Rosario created the federation in 2009 to showcase the art of Spanish and Latin American designers on the catwalks of the Big Apple.

The contribution contributes to the approximately $900 million in revenue fashion week generates each year.

“It feels great to be able to say that we can continue to activate trade not only in the United States but also in our countries,” adds Rosario.

Shoe designer Carlos Molina has been shoeing thousands of models for 25 years with designs inspired by his native Ecuador, he is hopeful for the immediate future:

“We have all come back more, more creative, smarter, more focused and I think we are in for much more exciting surprises than before the pandemic.”

Surprises like having new designers. Donny Diaz started designing two years ago inspired by city life and his trips to the Dominican Republic where his parents are from.

“Excited and very grateful to be here,” comments designer Donny Diaz, Designer

It is the same gratitude felt by the Peruvian model Maricielo Gamarra who came to the catwalk for the second time at this great event.

The model Maricielo Gamarra is proud of her origins:

“I am passionate about being on stage, modeling and showing the clothing and culture of the exquisite designs of Latin America.”

After this return to the catwalk, the designers will continue working to show the second part of this fashion week in September where they will show the designs of the spring-summer season for 2024.
