NVIDIA’s RTX 4060 Ti with Extended Memory: What We Know So Far

NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti with extended memory 16 GB has a different GPU option and requires more power. This is stated in the NVIDIA documents recently provided to partners. It should be noted that NVIDIA has not yet provided GPUs for these cards, which means that these are only sketches of the specifications of the proposed model, so things are still subject to change.

So, the RTX 4060 Ti with 16 GB of VRAM will have a different chip than the 8 GB model (363 vs 361), but the board design will remain the same (PG190). More importantly, NVIDIA felt it necessary to use a different GPU option specifically for this card, but that’s a minor jump from the AD106-350 to 351 . This probably means it has the same number of CUDA cores, but some physical design changes are still needed.

As expected, doubling the amount of memory will increase power consumption. However, this is reportedly only 5 W higher than RTX 4060 Ti 8GB with 160W TDP. It’s not yet clear if the 16GB variant has the same 18Gbps memory clock, but it’s a good guess.

Obviously, after the fiasco with the launch of the 12GB RTX 4080, the company has become more careful when developing different cards under the same name, so the specifications of both should remain the same. As far as we know, only these three changes (capacity, GPU option, and TDP) are currently being discussed.

The launch of the RTX 4060 Ti is scheduled for the second half of July. The 8GB model is expected to debut on May 24th.
