After a long time, more details are emerging regarding the flagship model of the next generation of desktop graphics cards from Nvidia. In recent weeks, there has been debate mainly about the so-called SUPER refresh of the RTX 40 series, which will contain three new cards and arrive during the CES 2024 technology fair, however, a few days ago, key information about the graphics surfaced, which could be called RTX 5090.
The specific designation has not yet been mentioned, so among leakers and news servers, the successor to today’s RTX 4090 (or RTX 4090 Ti?) is only called the TOP model of the RTX 50 series. It should be codenamed Ada-Next s by Blackwell architecture hit the market sometime in 2025 (possibly at the very end of 2024).
Earlier, there were speculations that the next generation of consumer GPUs will receive the driver 512-bit buswhich would when using fast memory technology GDDR7 could shoot the maximum throughput value above the 2 TB/s limit. However, the latest information, coming from a renowned leaker who goes by the name kopite7kimi, suggests that In the end, Nvidia won’t make us that happy.
This can be seen as confirmation.

Everything currently indicates that the RTX 5090 or whatever the new card will be called, end up with a 384-bit bus. If this really happens, the bus will not see an expansion compared to the current flagship model RTX 4090. However, due to faster memory chips, it will be possible to push the throughput to something around 1.5 TB/swhich is definitely not a bad thing.
However, the appearance of a 512-bit bus in one of the future models was not directly rejected, and it is therefore possible that an even more powerful model, which has not yet been mentioned, will surprise with it. After all, there is still enough time left before the release of the next generation of GPUs for several changes of plans within the green team.
Kopite7kimi also hinted in another post that The RTX 5090/5080 FE will look similar to the yet-to-be-released RTX 4090 Ti, which we have seen in several leaked images. We last informed you about it in this article, where it is compared to the previous Titan RTX model.
RTX 5090/5080 FE should have a similar composition structure.
