A reliable source, MEGAsizeGPU, who previously proved correct in their assumptions, now reports that not even two, but three RTX 4060 models are included in the manufacturer’s roadmap.
It looks like NVIDIA has listened to feedback from the gaming community who didn’t like that RTX 4060 Ti can only have 8 GB video memory. The same memory configuration will reportedly apply to the RTX 4060 model as well.
The company is now planning to launch the RTX 4060 Ti with up to 16 GB, but this map will come later. According to an insider, all three cards will be announced this month, with two models coming in July. Buyers should be aware that the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB will be available this month, but the 16GB model as well as the RTX 4060 8GB will arrive in July.
- GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB: Announcement – May, release – May.
- GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB: Preview – May, Release – July.
- GeForce RTX 4060 8 GB: announcement – May, release – July.
GeForce RTX 4060 You 16 GB, certainly an unexpected decision by NVIDIA, mainly due to the already limited memory bus to 128-bit. It definitely won’t improve throughput, but gamers can expect a larger framebuffer to store high-res textures, or perhaps larger AI models.
NVIDIA will likely announce all three cards at the Computex event, but there is still no “announcement date” in internal embargo documents, more information may come soon.
