Nvidia has become the most traded stock on the American stock market, dethroning Tesla, in the context in which investors want to capitalize on the growing popularity of artificial intelligence, according to Business Insider.
Moreover, Nvidia will report financial results this week, which has influenced investors’ interest in the company’s shares.
About $30 billion worth of Nvidia shares were traded in each of the past 30 sessions, according to a Reuters analysis based on LSEG statistics.
For comparison, Tesla, which has held the title of the most traded stock on Wall-Street for several years, registered volumes of about 22 billion dollars in the same period.
Nvidia shares are up 47% year-to-date, while Tesla shares are down about 19.5% year-to-date as the outlook for the electric vehicle market grows more complicated.
At the same time, Tesla’s evolution was also influenced by the reports in the WSJ related to “the money and drugs that connect Elon Musk to some Tesla executives”.
On the other hand, Nvidia is one of the companies that have positioned themselves in the middle of the so-called AI revolution, being one of the main technology providers.
Analysts expect Nvidia this week to report quarterly revenue up more than 200% year over year.
