Nvidia has already removed the driver that unlocked the mining limits of the RTX 3060

Nvidia has implemented a hash rate block on its GeForce RTX 3060 to limit performance in cryptocurrency mining. However, this same block was deactivated by a driver released by the manufacturer.

The news took everyone by surprise, including Nvidia itself. The brand has already acknowledged the error and has now removed the driver from the site, thus ceasing to be available.

The hash rate limit on the GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card has been outdated with the help of the brand itself, even if intentional. In other words, Nvidia made available to developers the Nvidia GeForce 470.05 update through the Windows Insider platform. And that same update deactivated those limits.

In short, just installing the driver was enough to guarantee the mining of Ethereum to a maximum level. Nor was it necessary to update the BIOS. However, it was not clear whether Nvidia was aware of this situation when it launched the driver, or if it was a technical error. But we already know the answer.

What appeared to have been a gift from Nvidia to those who mine cryptocurrencies, after all, was just a mistake. Therefore, the driver was not supposed to be released with these features. Nor was it the aim of the manufacturer to unblock the limits that it had imposed itself.

In this regard, Nvidia issued a small release where he reacts by saying that he recognizes the error and that he removed the driver from the official website.

The graphics programmer drivers inadvertently included code used for internal development that removes the hash rate limits on the GeForce RTX 3060 in some configurations.

The driver has been removed.

Of course, even with this removal from the Nvidia website, the driver can still be found and installed via other locations. And certainly many fans of digital currency mining already have their RTX 3060 with this update to take full advantage of Ethereum mining.

However, this driver only works on the most popular graphics, such as ASUS, MSI, Palit, EVGA, GALAX or GigaByte. In other models, such as Zotac and Inno3D, the chip has problems.
