Nvidia is expected to launch Geforce RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 graphics cards in about three months. There is still a lot we don’t know about the graphics cards, but the graphics memory of the RTX 5080 is said to be very fast at 32 Gbps.
Nvidia’s RTX 50 series of graphics cards are expected to be unveiled at CES 2025 where the company’s CEO Jensen Huang will give a speech. So far, little confirmed information has found its way onto the Internet regarding the first wave of graphics cards in the series. Now, however, we may have received information about the video memory of the RTX 5080, which is said to be the fastest on the market.
According to the website Wccftech if the Geforce RTX 5080 comes with 16 gigabytes of GDDR7 memory at a speed of 32 Gbps. This is said to be four Gbps faster than the memory of the RTX 5090 and would mean a total memory bandwidth of one terabyte per second. This can then be compared to the RTX 4080 which has GDDR6X memory at a speed of 23 Gbps and a memory bandwidth of 736 GB/s.
Nvidia may later update the video memory of the first wave graphics cards and launch variants with the suffix Ti, Super or whatever they choose to call this time. It is speculated that the company could jump to GDDR7 models of 3 GB each, which could increase the memory level, for example, the Geforce RTX 5080 to 24 GB. However, this is just speculation about updated models of graphics cards that haven’t even been released yet. So, the whole thing should be taken with a grain of salt.
