Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070 can get three versions

In just over a month, Nvidia invites you to the annual developer conference GTC, which as usual means a packed schedule with hardware and artificial intelligence (AI) high on the list. While GTC is usually not particularly consumer-oriented, it is offered at regular intervals on detours, which this year is expected to be in the form of the Geforce RTX 4070.

This is because in such a case the fourth graphics card in the Geforce RTX 4000 series is rumored to end up on store shelves in April, which agrees well with the unveiling at the end of March. So far, there has been talk of a version where 5,888 CUDA cores are joined by 12 GB of GDDR6X memory over a 192-bit wide memory bus. Now documents from Gigabyte state that two more variants may be current.

In a product list that found its way out via Videocardz lists the Gigabyte Geforce RTX 4070 with three different memory configurations. In addition to the 12 GB version that figured in previous rumors, there are also models with 10 and 16 GB of graphics memory as options.

It would not be the first time Nvidia makes several versions where the amount of graphics memory is the difference. An example is the RTX 3080, which is manufactured with both 10 and 12 GB. In addition, it was the plan for the RTX 4080 duo, although it was more than just the amount of memory that would be the difference. However, whether the products are still actually current is highly unclear, since the withdrawn and subsequently renamed RTX 4080 12 GB is also on the list.
