Released last week, the cloud gaming service Nvidia GeForce Now recently had to cope with the withdrawal of Activision-Blizzard games. If, on Wednesday, Nvidia did not go into details, the company spoke yesterday on the subject.
In a declaration made to our colleagues from Bloomberg, Nvidia explained that the withdrawal of Activision-Blizzard games, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Overwatch or Diablo III, is not due to a conflict between the companies, but to a misunderstanding. So, Nvidia thought that the commercial agreement signed concerned beta, but also the 90 days offered to Founder customers, while Activision wanted a new one, which Nvidia had not understood.
Activision-Blizzard was a fantastic partner during the GeForce Now beta, which we included in the free trial period for our founding members. Recognizing the misunderstanding, we have removed their games from our service, with the hope that we can work with them to reintegrate them (…).
Therefore, it is not impossible that the withdrawn securities will soon return, if Activision-Blizzard agrees to negotiate a new agreement, more in line with its requirements.
