“Nvidia Discontinues GeForce RTX 3060 Ti to Make Room for Upcoming RTX 4060 TI”

According to ITHome, Chinese traders have received a message from Nvidia calling on the American manufacturer to get rid of stocks of the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. Nvidia would also soon stop producing this video card.

According to the Chinese tech website it would take a few months before the stocks of the RTX 3060 TI are finally eliminated. Wccftech in Tom’s Hardware state that Nvidia wants to pave the way for the upcoming GeForce RTX 4060 TI with this decision. This new video card will appear in two variants, a version with 8GB memory and a version with 16GB memory. The version with 8GB memory would appear on May 24. The 16GB version is rumored to be on the shelves at the end of July.

The exact specifications of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti are not yet officially known. The new video card would include a 128-bit memory bus, an AD106 GPU with 4352 CUDA cores and a boost clock of 2580MHz. The GPU is also rumored to have a PCIe 4.0-x8 interface.

Nvidia released the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti in December of 2020. The video card received 8GB of GDDR6 memory, with a speed of 14Gbit/s. Just like the RTX 3070, the video card uses the GA104 GPU, but not all CUDA cores are active. The RTX 3060 Ti has 4864 cores, with the RTX 3070 there are 5888. The video card was given a suggested retail price of 419 euros when it was introduced.
