The CMA has ruled negatively on the deal between Microsoft and Activision, ruling that it could pose a serious threat to the balance of the UK and other markets, especially for the cloud gaming sector. However, the entire gaming industry doesn’t think so, as can be seen from NVIDIA’s recent statement.
The company that created the famous GeForce Now service, in fact, expressed its disappointment with the controversial decision taken by the British market regulator. As stated in a message posted by the company on Twitter, NVIDIA states that “GeForce Now and other cloud gaming providers will get an even bigger catalog of games if Microsoft’s deal to acquire Activision is completed».
«We see this as an advantage for cloud gaming and look forward to a positive decision”, adds the NVIDIA GeForce NOW Twitter account, which expresses its disappointment with the latest decisions made by the Competition and Markets Authority. Unfortunately, the situation is far from simple: on the one hand, we have confirmation from NVIDIA about the importance of the deal, on the other hand, statements from some companies that believe that the Xbox deal with Activision harms competition.
