NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang Predicts Reduction in AI Development Costs due to Advances in Technology

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said he expects the development cost of artificial intelligence (AI) to be reduced over the next few years due to advances in computer technology. Some reports say that OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is aiming to raise $7 trillion (approximately 1,044 trillion yen) for AI projects, but Huang said the amount would be far below that level. This is my opinion.

“Don’t just assume that we’ll buy more computers,” Huang said at the World Government Summit in Dubai on the 12th. We also need to assume that.” NVIDIA’s AI accelerator products are the most in demand. Huang said such products are “getting faster and faster” and believes the semiconductor industry will drive down AI-related costs.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that OpenAI CEO Altman plans to raise $7 trillion from investors in the Middle East, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), for a semiconductor strategy to advance AI projects. It is reported that they are aiming for Huang addressed this report.

Still, Huang doesn’t see an end to increased spending on AI anytime soon. In his remarks at the summit, he predicted that the global cost of data centers for AI will double over the next five years.

“We are at the dawn of a new era,” Huang said. “The size of data centers installed today is about $1 trillion. In the next four to five years, that will increase to $2 trillion, and the world “We will be running the same software,” he said.
