FAJAR.CO.ID, PENAJAM — The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) has confirmed that it will not evict residents living around Nusantara City in North Penajam Paser and Kutai Kartanegara Regencies, East Kalimantan.
“Everything is in accordance with the law and people’s rights are protected, so no residents will have their homes evicted around the Nusantara City area,” said OIKN Deputy for Socio-Cultural and Community Empowerment Alimuddin in Penajam, Saturday, quoted by ANTARA.
This confirmation was conveyed regarding the OIKN letter which was given to around 300 residents of Pemaluan Village, Bumi Harapan Village, Bukit Raya Village, and Sukaraja Village in Sepaku District, North Penajam Paser Regency, which is part of the Nusantara City area.
The letter issued by the Deputy for Development Control at OIKN Number 179/DPP/OIKN/III/2024 concerns invitations regarding directions for violations of development that is not permitted and/or does not comply with the spatial planning of Nusantara City.
The contents of the letter stated that based on the results of the identification of the joint team controlling unlicensed buildings, hundreds of people’s houses did not comply with the spatial plan regulated in the detailed spatial planning plan (RDTR) for the planning area of Indonesia’s new capital city and were therefore demolished.
Alimuddin said the letter had been withdrawn and was considered invalid. When residents’ land is used for the development of Nusantara City, money or land will be replaced, resettlement (transferred), share ownership, and other forms.
