“Nusantara Capital Authority Agency Prepares Spatial Planning Head Regulations for New Indonesian State Capital”

The Nusantara Capital Authority Agency (OIKN) has released its head regulations (Peraturan kepala/Perka) on the spatial planning for the new capital, which spans Penajam Paser Utara and Kutai Kartanegara in East Kalimantan. OIKN has prepared the OIKN Perka regarding the Detailed Spatial Planning (RDTR) of IKN, consisting of nine planning areas. The Central Government Core Area (KIPP) and West IKN, as well as the planning area of IKN East 1 and IKN East 2 have already been published, with the remaining five planning areas are currently in the process of legislation or ratification. The IKN Authority has received around 167 letters of interest (LoIs) from 16 countries regarding cooperation in the construction of the new capital, with the offer LoIs currently in selection process to determine suitable and serious participants. The land acquisition team of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), the East Kalimantan provincial government, and the IKN Authority has procured 300 sectors, with 18 land areas already paid for and 285 underway. The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) has released land management rights over 36,150.03 hectares of land in Nusantara, with land relating to the government becoming state property (BMN), and the rest becoming assets under control (ADP), available for further use.
