First line
21/12/2020 08:00:00
The very first line is them. Nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, surface technicians. They have been battling the coronavirus for months. Immersion in the pulmonology department of CHU-UCL Namur-Godinne.
Dominique Frippiat is a pulmonology nurse at CHU-UCL Namur, on the Godinne site. His service aided the covid units during the first wave. The second, stronger and faster, required staff to completely transform the department into a covid unit and relocate their own patients.
Charlotte Binamé is a respiratory physiotherapist in the same department. She works with patients in the long rehabilitation that follows stays in intensive care, sometimes after weeks of coma.
With great emotion, both look back on their experiences at the height of the crisis, on the difficult times, on the strength of this second wave, on the situations of patients who sometimes change in an hour. But also on the team spirit, of family, which strengthened in the adversity their relations with their colleagues. “Warriors”, Dominique will say. But warriors with a heart.
