A nursing home apologized after hiring a stripper to dance on its residents’ lap at a Taiwanese harvest festival.
The Taoyuan Veterans Home, a public facility in Taoyuan City for military retirees, paid the stripper to entertain at least 12 wheelchair-bound seniors with her tantalizing performance. Staff said they wanted to bolster residents’ spirits as the previous two Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations were canceled due to the pandemic.
The establishment was targeted online when footage emerged showing the artist spreading her legs and stroking her body as she guided a grandfather’s hands over her breasts and groin.
Nursing home officials released a statement apologizing after footage of the steaming party was released. They stated that them “deeply sorry” the incident occurred on September 7, three days before the region’s annual harvest festival.
“The intention of the event was to entertain the residents and make them happy. We are truly sorry for the offense that was caused “, the spokesman for the retirement home said. The Mid-Autumn Festival or Mooncake Festival is one of the most important festivals of Asian culture.
