“Nurses Refute Claims of Legalized Surrogate Surgery and Prescriptions in Korean Nursing Act”

Nurses, who have been called medical assistants, PAs, and have been on behalf of doctors, have refuted that the claim that the Nursing Act will legalize surrogate surgery and prescriptions is not true.

Seven medical support nurses working at the hospital held a press conference today at the Communication Hall of the National Assembly in Yeouido and said, “The Nursing Act, like the current Medical Act, specifies the duties of nurses, and there is no provision anywhere to legalize proxy prescriptions or surgeries by nurses. I don’t,” he said.

At the same time, he emphasized, ″Without standards or regulations on the scope of work, it has served as a substitute for a major that is lacking under the pretext of medical assistance.″

Previously, the Korean Residents Association expressed concern that the recent enactment of the Nursing Act could legally approve nurses’ proxy surgeries and prescriptions.
