She is a little girl of just two days, found by a passer-by in a black plastic bag in Posadas, in northwestern Argentina.
The man heard moans coming from a sack and, once opened, saw the little stab multiple times – with a rusty blade still attached to his back.
He then immediately took the child to the police who in turn rushed her to the hospital.
The doctors then treated the little girl, whose tiny body had been hit several times by a knife: fortunately most of the stab wounds were superficial and no internal organs were involved. For the little girl, who is now recovering well, only two broken ribs.
Fortunately, the child is already breathing autonomously but has been subjected to antibiotic treatment (which, as an administrator of the Maternal Neonatal Hospital points out, “usually a few days old babies are not injured by rusty knives”).
The police meanwhile tracked down the child’s mother and was placed in custody.
