The world of Health is decidedly very sick, at the moment, in our country. The caregivers can no longer take it: resignation, burn-out, strike.
National strike and postponed operations
Example in Grenoble. After the midwives, it was the turn of the nurses-anesthetists of the Grenoble Alpes University Hospital to go on strike this Friday morning. At 7:30 am, they were 34 on the duty roster and all refused to take their positions in the operating theaters, followed by students on internship and supported by doctors.
The management took two hours to hand over their assignments to them, as required by law. Results : surgeries had to be canceled.
For a true status of the nurse-anesthetist
Their demands are not so much salary as they are statutory. “We are demanding a real status, commensurate with our responsibilities and our skills” explains Guillaume, nurse-anesthetist at CHUGA. “We do two additional years of study, we work independently, under supervision with an anesthetist. But it is we who are there with the patient from the beginning to the end of the operation, who sedate him, watch him when he wakes up. Of course, if there is a problem, the anesthetist intervenes. But it runs on 3-4 theaters. “
They are therefore asking for the status of advanced practice paramedics. A national operation “dead blocks” is being carried out today in all hospitals in France.
