The director of studies has been at the helm of the largest network for digital education in Germany since 2017. The general assembly confirmed him in his office.
“Digitization is forcing all actors in the educational landscape to act. At least since the adoption of the digital pact, everyone has been aware that a change in the educational landscape must take place,” says Büttner. “The corona pandemic has massively increased the necessity and urgency. Only in an open discourse with participants from all levels of education can long-term and sustainable structures and strategies be developed and implemented.”
After studying business education, Christian Büttner taught at a vocational school in Nuremberg for seven years. The promotion of skills in vocational schools was also the focus of his dissertation, which he completed in 2011. From 2010 to 2018 he was a member of the school mayor’s staff. Büttner has been Head of IT Strategy for Nuremberg Schools since 2017 and Managing Director of the IPSN since September 2018.
The Alliance for Education is an association that represents the interface between the education industry and the public sector. The more than 100 members include federal states, municipalities, cities and universities, publishers, IT companies, media providers and educational start-ups. “Together with our member organizations, we have set ourselves the goal of supporting the digital transformation in schools as a place of learning,” says Büttner. The aim is to make the opportunities of digital media, tools and means of communication more accessible to everyone involved in the educational process. HK
