The Teatro del Carmen de Vélez-Málaga attended on October 30 the presentation of a beautiful work by the artist Nuria Barrera, made on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the foundation of the Cultural Objective of the Passion, of the municipality of Malaga.
The work, which comes to represent the candlestick of a canopy, reflects the indisputable mastery of the Sevillian artist’s brush. Nuria Barrera acknowledges that she was inspired “by the crackle of flames and the warmth of the light of a lit candlestick”. In addition, the shields of the 19 Brotherhoods of Vélez Málaga are added to the candlestick itself, joining in the celebration of the tenth anniversary of this Cultural Association that one day created a group of young brotherhoods.
Furthermore, following Barrera’s description, in the background the rosy light of the twilight outlines the unmistakable profile of the city, which preserves centuries of history. The candlestick rests on a name and a date, with the X at the center, ten years of work of this cultural association, moved by the enthusiasm and love for its biggest week, Holy Week. Objective Passion which is supported by the color that identifies it, purple.
