Indian politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nupur Sharma, drew criticism from various parties. He admitted that he received death threats after his comments about the Prophet Muhammad drew protests from many parties, especially Muslims.
Reported AFP, Thursday (9/6/2022), Nupur admitted to having received death threats after his appearance on television. However, AFP has not received more detailed information regarding Nupur’s confession.
Seen on his social media, Nupur Sharma also appealed to everyone not to share his home address. He admitted that he was threatened with security for his family.
“I ask all media and everyone not to publish my address. There is a security threat to my family,” said Nupur, seen on his personal Twitter uploaded on Sunday (5/6) ago.
Local local media also reported about this threat, reported by THE HINDU, Nupur has reported this alleged threat to the police. Currently, the Indian police have also conducted an investigation related to the threat.
