21 December 2023, 02:00 AM IST

London: Portuguese Nuno Espirito Santo has taken over as the coach of English Premier League club Nottingham Forest. The 49-year-old replaces Steve Cooper. Cooper was released after two years due to Nottingham Forest’s poor performance in the Premier League. Nottingham are 17th with 14 points, having lost five of their last six matches. Earlier, Cooper coached England under-16 and 17 teams.

Nuno, who coached teams like Tottenham, Wolves, Valencia and Porto, joined Saudi Arabian club Etihad last year. Nuno was fired by the club last month. Nuno played in the Portugal youth teams and won the UEFA Champions League with Porto.
