Together with her sister Brenda, Linda Fruhvirtová belongs to the huge hopes not only of Czech tennis. Trophies from the Pardubice Junior, the famous Orange Bowl, which is considered the unofficial Junior World Championship or the title at the World Team Championship in Prostějov … This is just a brief list of the young tennis player’s greatest junior successes.

The Czech rising star, however, already shows its potential at the highest level. She stopped at the mega-enterprise in Miami in the eighth finals of the current Spanish trio Badosaová, before that she scored the scalps of Černohorka Koviničová, the stellar Belgian Mertens or the two-time grand slam champion Viktoria Azarenková.

“I saw she wasn’t playing her best tennis. But I didn’t want to win like that. When I was growing up, I watched her and looked up at her. I hope she’ll be okay soon,” Fruhvirt said in response to the frustrated Azarenka after losing the first set 2: 6 in the second at 0: 3 left the court.

The Czech tennis player’s campaign did not stop even at the green clay court in Charleston, where in the first round she turned the match against former junior world number one Anna Konjuhová and won after sets 4: 6, 6: 1, 6: 3.

“Green clay is very specific, the transition from concrete is easier than directly to classic clay. I think this surface fits me, I like to play on it, it was not a big problem for me,” said Fruhvirt, who also got to 166th place in the world, which is the highest ranking of a player under the age of eighteen.
