number of new positive corona tests stable

Between Saturday morning and Sunday morning, the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) established 1,624 positive corona tests, slightly more than the recently adjusted number (1614) from Saturday. One person has died from the effects of the virus, the place of residence has not been disclosed. It doesn’t necessarily mean he or she passed away this weekend. Sometimes it takes a while before the death of a corona patient is registered.

Rotterdam had the most positive results in 24 hours (94), followed by The Hague with 71 and Amsterdam with 49 new cases.

According to the health institute, 12,563 people in the Netherlands have succumbed to the virus since the outbreak. The total number of positive corona tests now stands at 1,954,295. At the current rate, it will take another three or four days before the 2 millionth report is a fact. The Netherlands will then be the 22nd country worldwide to exceed the 2 million corona cases.

Hospitals

There are currently 473 corona patients in Dutch hospitals. That is three more than Saturday, according to figures published by the National Coordination Center for Patients Spreading (National Coordination Center for Patients Spreading).LCPS) released. The slight increase is due to the fact that there are now slightly more corona patients in the nursing wards than the day before: 304 on Sunday, compared to 297 on Saturday.

The number of corona patients in intensive care has decreased. While 173 people were still there on Saturday, the disease caused by the coronavirus, on Sunday there were 169.

Nine new patients were admitted to the intensive care units, 29 to the nursing wards.

On Friday, the number of corona patients in hospitals fell below 500 for the first time since July 23.
