HAARLEMMERMEER Last week, the number of new reports of COVID-19 decreased slightly compared to the week before. The number of new hospital admissions has increased slightly. In the past week, 36,931 new reports of COVID-19 were received nationally, compared to 37,706 in the previous week.
The number of newly established infections with the corona virus (COVID-19) has decreased slightly again in the past two weeks (from November 18 to November 24) in Haarlemmermeer. This is evident from the weekly update of the RIVM figures. 585 new corona infections were reported in the last two weeks, 193 fewer than in the previous two weeks (778). Four Haarlemmermers were also hospitalized with corona (nine two weeks ago), unfortunately there were also two deaths (three two weeks ago).
REGION The number of new infections has also fallen almost everywhere in the region. Of the neighboring municipalities, Amsterdam is still the leader in the number of new infections. But Aalsmeer also has relatively many infections. View the figures in the region on the map at the bottom of the text.
RURAL The number of corona cases is still falling, but the decline is stagnating. The RIVM warns against this. That got 36,931 reports of positive corona tests in the past week, about the same number as the week before. Then the institute reported that it had received 37,706 reports of positive corona tests in seven days.
The so-called reproduction number rose slightly and was just above 1. The figure now stands at 1.02, against 0.89 last week. It is an estimate, according to the RIVM it is somewhere between 0.99 and 1.05. The number indicates how quickly the virus spreads among the population. If it is above 1, the virus can spread faster and faster. The lower the number the better.
The number of deaths did decrease. The deaths of 422 corona patients have been recorded in the past seven days, up from 479 in the week before and 565 a week earlier.
The number of hospital admissions has also fallen. In the past seven days, 1291 corona patients were placed in a nursing ward and 193 in an intensive care unit. A week earlier, these were 1496 and 224, respectively.
